The Africa Adaptation Initiative is proud to present the AAI Young Professional Programme on Climate Finance. This is an opportunity held in Lome, Togo, by Sustainable Solutions for Africa & funded by USAID. The program seeks to involve university graduates, postgraduate students, and early-career professionals everywhere on the continent in the essential sphere of climate finance.

AAI Background
At COP 21 Paris, the Africa Adaptation Initiative was established to address the urgent need for climate change adaptation in Africa. African heads of state established the organization in 2015, and AAI is the primary climate change adaptation vehicle of the African Union. The AAI Program.
Programme Objectives
Next, based on the above, the objectives of the Young Professional Programme on Climate Finance are developed, which create a unique opportunity for participants to get involved through this experience into climate finance. For this, the program, within the framework of Sustainable Solutions for Africa , will be held in Lome and contains the following objectives:
Programme Details
Participants will collaborate with the SSA team and operate as a Technical Partner for AAI, supporting the acceleration of Africa’s adaptation implementation agenda. Furthermore, participants will have access to the AAI Adaptation Finance Academy and have direct exposure to actual developing climate finance projects. The program’s aim is to provide young professionals with the expertise and experience they need to make a real difference in climate change adaptation in Africa.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants: Graduates, postgraduates, or early-career professionals from any African country.
- Interest or Background: Demonstrated interest or background in climate finance, adaptation, or related fields.
- Skills: Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Work Environment: Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Passion: Passion for contributing to climate change solutions in Africa.
