Applications are open for the McDonald Fellowship Program 2024. People from all over the world are competing for the position as McDonald Fellows. The program is designed to allow competent young scientists working in the field of multiple sclerosis to conduct research at a foreign institution. While there, fellows will have the opportunity to develop new skills and collaborate on research projects.
Fully funded opportunities:
McDonald Fellowship will provide fully-funded fellowships for international candidates from all types who have no financial means to gain experience while working at a foreign institution. Applicants will have to commit to using the skills and networks acquired during the fellowship to benefit patients with MS and MS research in low- and middle-income countries. There are two types: MSIF-ECTRIMS McDonald Fellowship and MSIF-ARSEP McDonald Fellowship.
Objectives:
Nutritional approaches to managing MS, biology and pathology, and progression and management of MS. Take a world-wide approach to address the barrier to MS healthcare. Every year, we collaborate with national MS organizations to achieve all-around health through exclusive diagnostics and therapeutic methods and equipment ranging from diagnostics to equipment.

Financial Benefits of McDonald Fellowships:
- McDonald Fellowship Program 2024 is a Fully Funded Fellowship program. It will cover the following expenses:
- A stipend of £30,000 GBP per year, to cover travel and living costs.
- An additional Fund of £2,000 GBP per year to the host institution.

- Applicants must be postgraduate level (at least MSc, preferably PhD/MD) in an area relevant to multiple sclerosis.
- Must be citizens of a low or middle-income country (as defined by the World Bank).
- Applicant working or studying in a low or middle-income country (as defined by the World Bank).
- Studying in another country on a project, supported by an MSIF grant.
- Working on a project in a research institute or hospital abroad or in-home country or working on a virtual project.
