    Job Description

    The Stanbic IBTC Junior Graduate Trainee Program is an initiative that is designed to identify, attract and develop exceptional prospects with excellent digital skills . The DigiTAP program seeks to prepare or inspire candidates with the critical skills and provide them with the knowledge required to create the future digital and technology objectives of the Stanbic IBTC Group. The training program is intensive and focused it provides young and age-appropriate applicants a chance to blaze their career path while contributing to the organizational success in the digital era.

    Qualifications

    Preferred Qualification and Experience:

    • Minimum of a Second Class Upper (or its equivalent) degree in an Information Technology related course from an accredited University
    • Minimum of 5 credits (including Mathematics and English) in GCE, NECO, or its equivalent
    • Applicants should not be more than 26 years of age at engagement
    • Applicants must have concluded NYSC and possess a discharge certificate
    • Applicant’s Date of Birth, Gender, and Class of Degree must be clearly stated

    AIG-Imoukhuede Foundation (AIG) Public Leaders Programme 2024

    The AIG Public Leaders Programme is pleased to announce the opening of the application process for emerging African public sector leaders. The AIG PLP provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a new generation of leaders in African public government to expand their leadership capacity and acquire the essential skills to create transformative change. The program is a result of a cooperation with the internationally recognized University of Oxford’s Blavatnik School of Government, which specializes in public policy and has educated several top public policy experts and educators from every corner of the world.

    Our AIG PLP is intentionally designed to rapidly build the capacity of both current and future senior public leaders to thrive in the next three to seven years. Over a series of classroom conversations, practical exercises, simulations, and group activities, they are provided access to an intense learning environment.

    This program is required to offer them with the conceptual framework and practical knowledge they will need to move successfully and strategically in our multidimensional, ever-changing environment. Therefore, as a result of the program, they will have the ability to create a culture of excellence, performance, and honesty in the full range of public institutions in their home nations.

    Eligibility Criteria

    • Applicants must be citizens of any African country and actively engaged in the public sector in Africa.
    • Possess a minimum of seven years of professional work experience.
    • Hold a position at Grade Level 12 or above.
    • Must not exceed 50 years of age.

    Programme Details

    1. Live Classes: The first day of the program consists of four days of live online classes. On the fifth day, there will be faculty meetings.
    2. Online Learning: The next four weeks are based on self-paced online learning. The session is supported by Teaching Assistants, who moderate the online discussion boards.
    3. Residential Programme: The program’s most intense part is the forthcoming one-week residential session in Abuja. Teaching of the course by Blavatnik School faculty is done both at the venue and via video.
    4. Project Development: Participants will then be given time to develop their capstone projects.
    5. Project Review: End of the program, comprising the review of projects, close down activities, and awards session.

    Invitation to the 2024 Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship

    Applications are Open for JDS In Kenya Since 2020, the number of MA and Ph.D. fellows JDS has dispatched to Japan is as high as 29 and 2, respectively. JDS is now recruiting potential applicants well acquainted with our goals who are interested in pursuing a graduate diploma program of 2 years or more from Japanese universities throughout the academic year 2024-2025. The language of instruction will be English When they collect, 13 candidates, 12 MA and 1 Ph.D., will be sent out every year.

    Masters Program Eligibility Criteria

    • Nationality: Citizen of Kenya
    • Age: Below 40 years per April 1st, 2024 ; Born on/after April 2, 1984 (Note: Those who work in the central government for policy making and evaluation should be below 45).
    • Occupation: Public servants who are working in Target Organizations.
    • Work Experience:
      • Those who are working in Target Organizations as permanent and pensionable employees (contract staff are excluded from this category).
      • Public Servants should have a minimum of 2-year experience with a probation period at the time of application (part-time and voluntary work is not considered).
    • Academic Background:
      • Bachelor’s degree of university authorized by the Government of Kenya or other countries.
      • 16-year formal education is required; however, work experience in academic or research carrier can be considered as an alternative for those who don’t meet the academic requirements.

      • The applicant shall have worked for at least 2 years as a public servant with a period of probation at the time of application. Part-time jobs and volunteer activities are excluded.
    • Recommendation:
      • Submit a letter of recommendation from the supervisor of the applicant’s current duty office.
      • The reference letter shall include an evaluation of the applicant’s work and an assessment of the suitability of the applicant’s research theme.

    Scholarship Benefits

    • Selection Costs Coverage: All selection costs will be covered by the JDS project.

    Applications for the Higherlife Foundation Joshua Nkomo Scholarships are ongoing. Such opportunities are available to students who are Zimbabwean citizens and are currently under the age of 21 years.     2024 Embassy of France in Nigeria Séjours Scientifiques de Haut Niveau (SSHN) Scholarships

    Applications for the Embassy of France in Nigeria’s 2024 Séjours Scientifics de Haut Niveau scholarship are now being accepted. The SSHN program is administered by the French Government Scholarship Programme France Excellence, which is overseen by the embassy of France in Nigeria. The scholarship allows for one month of scientific research for interested academic and research personnel to be completed in France at higher education and research institutions. The program also aims to encourage cooperation with French institutions. In 2024, the Embassy of France will provide 9 scientific grants, each of which will last one month. Due to budget limits and visit duration, more visits may be funded.

    Eligibility Criteria

    1. Nationality: Any candidate holding a tenure position in a public or private higher education institution or scientific research laboratory accredited by the National Universities Commission.
    2. Binational Candidates Exclusion: Binational candidates possessing the nationality of one of the countries of the European Union are not eligible for this call.
    3. Degree: Only PhD students and holders of a PhD degree are eligible. Candidates who have obtained a doctorate more than 5 years ago will hold the position of “confirmed researchers,” while those who obtained it less than 5 years ago will be categorized as “young researchers.”
    4. Length of Mobility: From 2 weeks (14 days) to 4 weeks (28 days).
    5. Dates of Mobility: In 2024, only mobilities scheduled between the 15th of September and ending at the latest on the 15th of December, if the institution in France can host the grantee.

    Benefits

    The scholarship carries a round-trip air ticket, monthly allowance, health and repatriation insurance. Accommodation can be arranged through Campus France Paris, with the rent being deducted from the grant.

    Application Procedure:

    The eligibility for this scholarship is based on the handling of applications determined by:

    1. Applications will be evaluated based on:
      • Precision of the project;
      • Presence of elements ensuring added value and impact of the mobility;
    2. A clear and complete cover letter and/or letter of invitation containing:
      • Description of the activities during the stay;
      • Specific motivation reasons for the host organization;
      • Previous achievements associated with the project under consideration;
      • A connection to research domains covered by home laboratories;
      • Actions making room for the emergence of new collaborations.
    3. Quality assessment and the work plan’s precision are based on:
      • Mobility calendar set out by the applicant – With attention paid to preparation conditions.
    4. The outcome will be sent by email and will include:
      • Procedure for compliance with travel and visa arrangements
    5. The French Embassy in Nigeria will be responsible for connecting the successful candidate with Campus France Paris for:
      • Setting up the practical aspects of the mobility;
    6. Any relevant operation that has not been initiated or approved by June 15th will be automatically canceled.
    7. This scholarship may not be extended to the following year for any reason.

    • 26 April 2024: Deadline for application
    • 29 May 2024: Results announced
    • 15 June 2024: Deadline for sending the full file to Campus France Paris
    • From 15 September to 15 December 2024: Mobility period in France
