In the tailored support phase, the entrepreneurs formulate their individual DDEP and gain financial incentives to help them commence implementing the suitable digital solution.

    The intervention ends with every entrepreneur possessing a path to the suitable digital solutions that underprop financial sustainability and leadership in the TFT industry. This DDEP makes it feasible for consumers to access the digital transformation and yield in the new endpins they have anticipated.

    Overview:

    UN Environment Young Champions of the Earth is the United Nations Environment Programme’s (UNEP) flagship youth work engagement initiative.     Objectives:

    Young Champions of the Earth are the winners determined to be in the best position to address the triple planetary crisis and solutions that tap nature’s potential.

    Selection and Awards:

    One Young Champion will be chosen for each world region in 2024: Africa, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, North America, and West Asia two from Asia and the Pacific. The following are the winners:

    Responsibilities:

    The 2024 Young Champions of the Earth will be expected to document their journeys through videos and blogs on the program’s website for up to one year.

    Eligibility:

    Applicants must have at least six months of experience working on a significant idea to protect or restore the environment and must be aged between 18 and 30 on 31 December 2024.

    Benefits:

    If chosen as a Young Champion of the Earth, you will be required to participate in international travel to attend the Champions of the Earth award ceremony, an entrepreneurship boot camp, and educational tours. The specific dates and locations will be communicated during the program. All travel expenses will be covered by UNEP, and winners must possess a valid passport.

    Selection Criteria:

    In the initial stage of the selection process, all applications will be evaluated by United Nations experts based on the following criteria:

    1. The 3 Ps: The potential positive impact of your significant idea on the environment (planet), society (people), and its financial viability (prosperity).
    2. The 3 Cs: Evidence demonstrating that you possess curiosity, courage, and a vibrant personality.
    3. Demonstrated Commitment: It is crucial that you have already made efforts to implement your significant idea for at least six months, and you can articulate accomplishments and progress achieved thus far.

    Qualities of a Storyteller

    A storyteller is simply anyone with a great story to tell. If you are active on social media, you tell stories in images or videos every time you capture and post. You don’t necessarily have to hold a professional qualification in photography or an outstanding script; all you need to do is share a meaningful narrative with the rest of the world. This opportunity is available to you if you can share your story using a manageable video or photo.

    Requirements for Your Story

    Entries must have been created by the entrants. They could be in the form of videos or photos – the sky is the limit as long as you use your purely unprecedented imagination! But they must meet the following specifications:

    Next, based on the above, the objectives of the Young Professional Programme on Climate Finance are developed, which create a unique opportunity for participants to get involved through this experience into climate finance. For this, the program, within the framework of Sustainable Solutions for Africa , will be held in Lome and contains the following objectives:

    Programme Details

    Participants will collaborate with the SSA team and operate as a Technical Partner for AAI, supporting the acceleration of Africa’s adaptation implementation agenda. Furthermore, participants will have access to the AAI Adaptation Finance Academy and have direct exposure to actual developing climate finance projects. The program’s aim is to provide young professionals with the expertise and experience they need to make a real difference in climate change adaptation in Africa.

    Eligibility Criteria:

    • Applicants: Graduates, postgraduates, or early-career professionals from any African country.
    • Interest or Background: Demonstrated interest or background in climate finance, adaptation, or related fields.
    • Skills: Strong analytical and communication skills.
    • Work Environment: Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
    • Passion: Passion for contributing to climate change solutions in Africa.
