Austrian Development Cooperation Scholarships 2024 for Study in Austria
The Austrian Development Cooperation is currently accepting applications for the 2024 scholarships. The scholarships are conferred to students from developing countries to help cover tuition fees and living expenses.
- The scholarships are accessible to students from the taught priority countries at ADC as well as other developing states
- The scholarships are especially allocated for the Diploma Course provided by the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management
The Diploma Course consists of the following:
- General Module
- Professional Module: Hospitality Management or Tourism Management
- Elective: Entrepreneurship or Teacher Training

ITH Scholarship Application Process
Students have the option to attend ITH through private means or by applying for scholarships provided by the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC).
- The Austrian Development Cooperation offers a limited number of scholarships each year.
- It’s important to note that receiving a scholarship is not guaranteed and the selection process is highly competitive.
Benefits of the Scholarship
The scholarship covers the following:
- Tuition fees
- Accommodation
- Round-trip flight tickets (from the home country to Salzburg and back)
- Health insurance
- Meals provided from Monday to Sunday
- Excursions (excluding the field trip to ITB Berlin)
- €205 monthly pocket money
Items not covered by the scholarship include:
- Airport transfers: As a student trips from the airport to the hostel and the return trip will not be covered.
- Visa fee: Candidates will have to secure their visa fee. The 8.5-month residence permit is €160. Visa fee varies and for more information, the candidate should contact their embassy.
Scholarship for Developing Countries
The scholarship covers the following:
- Tuition fees
- Health insurance
- Meals provided from Monday to Friday
- Excursions (excluding ITB Berlin)
- €205 monthly pocket money
This scholarship does not cover the following items:
- Accommodation: It is expected that scholarship recipients pay for their accommodations. The accommodation fee of €1,700 is required months before the official issuance of the admission letter.
- Flight tickets: scholarship recipients are responsible for their own travel expenses from their countries to Salzburg and back home.
- Visa fee: Applicants are required to pay their visa fees. The fee for an 8-month residence permit is €160. The visa fees for entry visa are different according to the Visa D and it is different from country to country please ask your embassy.
Please note that there is an age limit of 35 years for eligibility.

- Visit the ITH website or contact an Austrian consulate or embassy for information.
- Application Form:
- Download the ITH application form or send an inquiry to [email protected].
- Submit Application:
- All applications should be sent directly to the Institute via email or postal service.
- Deadline:
- The submission deadline is March 31, 2024. All applications must be received by the ITH office by this date.
- Confirmation:
- You will receive an email confirmation once your application has been received and processed.
- Result Notification:
- Applicants will be informed about the result of their application in May 2024. Successful applicants will receive a letter of acceptance.
Timeline:
- Deadline for Application Submission: March 31, 2024*
- Beginning of Courses: September 30, 2024
- Visa Application: Initiate the visa application process after receiving the letter of acceptance in May 2024.

- Planned Duration of Diploma Course: September 30, 2024 – June 13, 2025
